cleaning kitchen cabinet glass

Cleaning kitchen cabinet glass can sometimes be a challenge because you get a lot of grease that travels through the air during cooking. This grease can land on all surfaces including the cabinet glass. I’m not 100 percent sure if this is the problem but it would be the first thing I would consider. Try pre-washing the glass with Dawn dish soap and hot water to remove the layer of oil or grease that may be on the glass. Then because it is a frosted glass you might want to try and use a foaming glass cleaner such as Spray Way for the final cleaning. Here is a link for the Spray Way http://astore.amazon.com/doityourswind-20/detail/B000FMK1NY

cleaning frosted glass

I have frosted glass in two areas in my house, in my bathroom next to the bathtub and in the kitchen which separates the cooking counter from the bar. I thought that there would be a special method used for cleaning frosted glass so when our house was built I asked the man who installed both pieces of frosted glass how I should go about cleaning them. He said to go ahead and clean them just like I would clean any normal window. This was probably good advice but this is what I have learned.

The frosted glass in the bathroom is easy to clean and yes I just clean it like I would any other window. I have always used a spray cleaner and a squeegee to clean all my windows. Now the frosted glass in the kitchen bar area is a different story because it gets grease on it do to cooking.

The first time I cleaned it was fine using my usual methods. But then I neglected to clean it for a bout six months. Because of the placement of this glass it receives some over splatter from the stove. When I went to clean it using my regular method the cleaning process did not do very well. I suspect that frosted glass is more porous than regular window glass and the oil and grease just smeared into the pores of the glass leaving it looking horrible. So now what I find works best is to clean this particular glass panel using a mixture of concentrated Dawn dish soap. Just like washing dishes. It cuts the grease and the glass looks new again. It also helps if I clean it at least once a week.
