My grandmother is a fanatic when it comes to her homemade cleaning products. She gave me this recipe list which covers about anything you need to clean without using harsh and dangerous chemicals.
My darling, here is a copy of my own homemade cleaning products that you can use to safely clean with. We do not have to use cleaning products that will kill us!
Here is the list:
First of all, the main ingredients you need are vinegar, baking soda, and Dawn dish washing soap.
For the windows and bathroom mirrors, add about a 1/4 teaspoon of Dawn dish soap to about a ½ gallon of hot water. If you need to take off anything sticky or hard like calcium build up you can add 2 cups of white distilled vinegar to the soap and water. It works like magic.
Here is my super special homemade cleaning product for your bathroom. Fill a spray bottle with 1/4 cup Dawn dish soap and then top it off with vinegar. I find that this work fantastic for the tub! If there is a lot of extra soap scum, do not be afraid to use a scrub brush along with a little elbow grease.
Baking soda works great on the carpets. Ever hear of dry carpet cleaning. Just sprinkle the baking soda on the carpet and let it sit for about 20 minutes. For your high traffic areas you can scrub the soda into the fibers of the carpet with a brush. The baking soda will absorb odors and dirt. Then all you have to do it just vacuum it up!
For those nasty toilets, add 1/4 cup Dawn dish soap and 1/4 cup baking soda directly into the toilet bowl, mix it up with your toilet bowl brush and then let it sit while you go and get lunch. Then when you come back, give it a good scrubbing, flush and you’re all done.
Growing up we always had to make our own homemade cleaning products and the house was always clean and fresh. So give it a try and give your lungs, eyes, and skin a break from nasty chemical cleaning.
