Window Cleaning Business Expansion

by Steve Mathews - Alpine Window Cleaning

My window cleaning business is going on two years old and the only services that I provide at this time are window cleaning and gutter cleaning. I am interested in more window cleaning business expansion ideas and I’m wondering what you think is the best that complements window cleaning in general. Most of my customers already seem to have service providers for lawn care, bug treatments, carpet cleaning, and house cleaning. Is there anything more unique that I can offer my customers?

Window Cleaning Business Add-Ons
by: Ray Croskrey

This is a great question. There are a few really good window cleaning business add-on's that work well.

Hard water restoration.

Windows that have been subject to severe damage by hard water deposits will be in need of restoration.

If you notice that some of the windows on the outside have excess hard water deposits then point it out and ask if they would like the windows completely restored back to normal. Also ask about the shower glass. It is very rare that shower glass doesn’t have a hefty build up of hard water deposits. Most clients will be more than happy to pay extra for this service. All you need is a restoration kit. I like the Mr. Hard Water Power Tool System. (See video below)

Glass Scratch Repair.

Glass scratch repair is another fine example of one of the more lucrative window cleaning business add-ons because scratched glass is a real annoyance to people and if you can repair it for them at a fraction of what it would cost to replace then you will have extra business for sure. Glass scratch repair consists of a little more training and expertise. If not done correctly the glass can be damaged even more. So it is important to seek out the proper training and tools to do this job. I would recommend the Glass Renu System. (See video below)

Pressure washing

Offering pressure washing can be a great supplemental income along with your window cleaning business. You can pressure wash roofs, house siding, decks and drive ways.

Snow removal

If you have a truck with a plow and a snow blower this is a good one that will help you get your window cleaning business through those dark winter months. Just keep in mind that when it comes to snow removal you have to be ready to go at a moments notice because you never know for sure when it is going to snow. You will also need to be an early riser in case it snows that night and the snow has to be removed before people start getting around.

Theses are just a few window cleaning business add-ons that you can shoot for. If you’re constantly brain storming I’ll bet you will come up with a few more great ideas.
